In Cartagena, evereybody eats a good meal at noon. It is most of the time to hot to work around that time, so everybody eats…
Most common menu
Most common is the ‘menu del dia’, what the place has to offer that day. There are a few options, today it was chicken in various varieties or beef. Included is a salad and a soup.

The whole thing is a no hassle. First you pay at the cashier, you get your payment-slip with a number on it. You sit on one of the free spots and wait till they call your number. This is most of the time within 5 minutes.
You give the waiter your payment slip and you get your dish, with a plastic couvert. I didn’t like that last ‘typical’ thing as I ordered beef….

The cost of an Ejecutivo, as they call this meal is 7000 pesos Colombianos, or $5.00 US.
You cannot get all the ingredients in the supermarket for that price, so it is a good deal.

The soup was filled with platens (platanos) and yucca, not my favourite fillers, but allright.

The main dish had beef, rice and a potato. The beef was so tender, and I was so good with my plastic instruments that nothing broke and I eat almost everything.
Another time, I’ll do it again, but not every day.
Reason?
I prefer my main menu at night and I like the personal touch that Vivian tries to give to the food.
