More busdriving today, up to the middle of Costa Rica where we found a hostel in Monterico…
From Nicaragua to Costa Rica
We took a TicaBus this day from Managua, Nicaragua almost to San Jose, Costa Rica. We left around 12.30 pm.
Around 16.00 we were at the border.

Just as we arrived we had a nice rainshower.

The usual hassle with people and luggage out of the bus to put it back later.

The return of the passports.
In Costa Rica
Finally. My new passport stamped. Just left the C-4 countries in time. No problem at all with being one day too late.
It was getting dark and we wanted to stop before San Jose. Luckely we could lend a backpackers guide from one of our collegue-travellers. There were two places that didn’t look to bad. We fell for the name of Monteverde.

Our taxi-driver on the spot where he dropped us of in the hostel.
We were dropped as close as we could get to Monteverde, at 20.00 in the night. We were lucky to find a taxi and with the three of us we had to drive up a mountain for an hour. The taxi-driver charged us 80 $US, what I found reasonable, considering the rough trip by 4-wheel-drive.
He knew some relatives that had a hostel. They had enough room with a private shower and toilet. We were happy and after walking around in the village at night, some food and a nightcap we went to bed around 23.00
