Everyday I try to read the local newspaper, where ever I am in whatever language. Also in Guatemala. My Spanish has much improved during the years. Yesterday I was shocked reading one of the local papers, the Periódico…

We—Vivian and I—are trying to get our marriage registered in Guatemala. A snapshot view of a complete different world. Typewriters rule, the people are just a nuisance and procedures are invented on the spot. The pictures are from people in the street close to the state-buildings. They make a living of this complex and chaotic bureaucratic system.
