My temporal office in the Rio Dulce.
The Crowbar in a new building and with new management
I’ve been busy with building my new computer. I want to have a laptop with Linux on it.
A fast Internet connection is a must to do that.
There are a number of Internet cafes around here. They claim to have a fast connection. More marketing hype then reality.
Amazingly enough, the Crowbar in its rebuilding-phase has the fastest connection. Sometimes even 55Kb/sec. Of course it is a far cry from the 250 Kb/sec that the phone-company is saying it provides, but faster then the others.
Another good thing about the Crowbar and the Internet-connection. It is the only bar where it is free. The other Internet places charge between 1.50$US to 2$US an hour. Slow and expensive.
