Putting on a new layer of anti-fouling is something I do every three years. Careful planning where you haul out is needed in the Carib, as there are not so many places that offer this service.

This year we also managed to get our bottompaint in Panama. Cheaper then wherever else and a lot of choices.

Hauling out in Manzanillo

There are a number of marina’s around the Cartagena bay that offer these services.
We choose Manzanillo as it is the closest to town and they had a package deal of out- and in the water and 5 days on the hard for a reasonable price. This was our second haul out in Manzanillo, the first one was in 2000.

Not that dirty, not even after 5 months in . In these Cartagene waters barnecles grow very fast.

Pressure washer is included in the price.

We bought these overalls in Cartagena. They are protecting you, but they are also very hot…

As you can see in this picture.

Newly painted, ready to go in the water again. All within the limit of 4 days out of the water, cleaning, paining and in the water again.
There are people that spend a year on the hard in Manzanillo. Not a good idea, it is a very depressing place and way too hot.
