Finally I got my Edirol digital sound recorder. Now I have to do something with it and publish it on the Sponsored By The Wind site. A picture of it.
My Edirol arrived today!
Unexpectedly it arrived 6 days after it was put in the hands of FedEx with International Priority. The trip was from Eindhoven, the Netherlands to Cartagena de Indias, Colombia. They said it would arrive 12 days later as they picked it up and before that they said it would arrive within 5 days.
The transport costed a bit more then a quarter! (1/4) of the value of the digital soundrecorder.

It is a ‘handy’-format thing as you can see. But don’t try to keep it in your hand while recording. This will make to much uncontrollable background-noise.
The first night I was recording I replaced the 2 AA batteries 3 times. I used NiMH rechargeable of 2100 and 2300mAh. No more then half an hour on one set of batteries is a bit disappointing. But maybe I will find some options in the menu to get a bit more out of those batteries. (Sleeping and backlight).
The second night I recorded the silence of the night at anchor in the bay of Cartagena. The mics are very sensitive. Almost as good as my ears.
The sad thing is that I can write that to you, including a picture of the thing, but I’m not yet capable of sending sounds as an attachment over. That will take me some time to figure that out.
You can follow my experiments with the Edirol tag. I hope that quickly it will be as normal as a picture and then we can concentrate on the real content.
