In an earlier post about flag-etiquette I wrote about the Danish boat that changed into a Dutch boat by changing the Flag. Somebody told me another reason.
A joke with a consequence
By the time of writing we have had an international protest, storming of Danish and other Embassies, burning flags and more sorts of protests because of a caricature of Mohammed made by a Danish person. Is making jokes not an elementary human right. Is that why the USA is not agreeing with the new human rights convention? I already had the impression that this Bolton is not joking.
Anyway, one Danish boat in Cartagena got scared that somebody would burn their flag or worse. That’s why they changed their flag to a Dutch one. Pretty low Danish national self-esteem.
