Not much luck. Wit 1400 Rpm and no sails we make just 1.5 knots .With sails
we can make a course of 90 degrees (E) and a speed of 3.2 knots. Cartagena
is at 40 degrees. We still have to make 100 miles. The sky is covered with
clouds, specially in the South. Waves are coming from the NE. One wave
enters the cockpit and soaks my logbook so badly that I have to throw it
away and start all over again…without history.

End of fun. I decide to heave-to and give ourselves a bit of a rest. We
don’t make much progress. The wind slowly start to increase to 30 knots,
what is the limit of going close-hauled with Watergeus. Better wait for
better times to come.

After a nice mealunfortunately we ran out of wine a long time agoand
some lazy hours I had the feeling that the wind slowed down a bit. Time to
get moving again. On our way with 3.5 knots direction East.
- 19.00 hours
How nice, as we slowly approach land, the wind is turning to our advantage
and we even can do a course of 70 degrees. Also the wind is not so strong
any more and the waves are not so high and steep any more. Guess we are
behind the Colombian mainland.
